Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the inclusion of a chapter on the Emergency in the state's school curriculum. The chapter will educate students about the "excesses and repression" during the 1975-1977 Emergency period imposed by the Congress government.
Yadav emphasized the importance of teaching the present generation about this historical struggle. He also announced benefits for 'Loktantra Senanis' who fought against the Emergency, including discounted stays, toll waivers, and medical expense benefits.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Emergency imposed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, characterized by political arrests and press censorship.
