Madurai, Tamil Nadu: Film director and actor Sundar C has announced that he will refrain from criticising actor-turned-politician Vijay or his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), during the ongoing election campaign.

Sundar C is contesting from the Madurai Central Assembly constituency as a candidate representing the AIADMK-backed Puthiya Needhi Katchi (PNK). He arrived in Madurai on Wednesday to begin his campaign activities.

Addressing media personnel at the airport, Sundar C emphasized his cordial relationship with Vijay. He stated that Vijay has always been respectful towards him, and he intends to maintain the same approach during the campaign.

He also highlighted a personal connection, noting that his wife, actress Khushboo Sundar, regards Vijay as a younger brother. Due to this close association, Sundar C reiterated his decision to avoid making any critical remarks about Vijay or his party.

Speaking about the election, Sundar C remarked that the contest would be a significant political battle, symbolically referring to competing forces in the state. He expressed confidence in securing victory, stating that the people of Madurai Central constituency would support his candidacy.

Khushboo Sundar is also expected to actively participate in the campaign to bolster support.
