In a three-hour meeting chaired by Manipur CM N. Biren Singh, ruling alliance MLAs passed an eight-point resolution urging the Centre to review the imposition of AFSPA in six valley areas and take mass action against Kuki militants. They also demanded the militants be declared an "unlawful organization" and the investigation be handed over to the NIA. The resolution condemned attacks on MLAs' homes and warned of legal action if demands were unmet. The violence began after suspected Hmar militants attacked a CRPF camp, and protests intensified following the discovery of several bodies. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is reviewing the situation to restore peace.
