On December 6, the police also destroyed 45 acres of poppy fields in the Mapithel hill range and arrested two individuals, Letkhohao Haokip (37) and Hegou Khongsai (30), for their involvement. Earlier, on December 5, 8.6 acres of poppy fields were destroyed in Senapati district.

In ongoing anti-drug efforts, Manipur Police arrested three PREPAK (Pro) militants on December 11 for extortion and illegal arms possession. Weapons and ammunition were seized during searches in Chandel and Churachandpur districts.
