Markapuram Bus Fire Accident in Prakasam District
Amaravati, AP: At least 13 people were burnt alive in a devastating bus accident near Rayavaram in Markapuram mandal of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. The incident also left 22 others seriously injured.
According to officials, the injured passengers have been shifted to various hospitals for immediate medical treatment. Authorities have now released the identities of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
Among the deceased are residents of Vinjamur, including Chembeti Manoj (18), Chembeti Sujatha (45), and Chembeti Meghana (19). From Nellore district, the victims include Talapala Narendra (25), Talapala Chandana (21), and Talapala Chandu (6).
Others who lost their lives have been identified as Abraham (42), Praveen (21), and Mahindra Reddy (17). Two victims from Udayagiri — Konapogu Prakash (17) and Ambati Soujanya (22) — were also among the deceased. Additionally, Kanchupati Ayyanna (18) from Yerrabotlapalli and Velugoti Guravayya (60) from Chintaguntla were confirmed dead.
In response to the tragedy, Nellore District Collector Himanshu Shukla announced that a dedicated control room has been established at the Nellore Collectorate to assist affected families and provide information regarding the accident.
Officials stated that around 15 passengers from Nellore district were reportedly travelling on the bus. The control room, set up at the Tikkana premises, can be reached at 7995575699 and 08612331261 for further details and assistance.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
