Massive Avalanche in Uttarakhand

Nature has unleashed devastation in Uttarakhand with heavy rains and a massive avalanche. Snow has accumulated everywhere, causing severe disruptions. In Chamoli district, 47 workers were buried under the snow, while rescue teams have managed to save 10 people. Police and authorities have launched rescue operations, which are currently ongoing.

Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), district administration, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Border Roads Organization (BRO) are actively involved in the relief efforts. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand and other mountainous regions, warning of extremely heavy rainfall until Friday midnight.

Heavy rains have severely impacted daily life, flooding low-lying areas and shutting down underpasses in urban zones. Traffic jams have worsened the situation, making life miserable for residents. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh has also been facing extreme weather conditions for the past three days, with torrential rains and snowfall creating further challenges.
