DD Lapang Death
Former Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang has passed away at 91. He was undergoing treatment at a Shillong hospital for age-related ailments and died Friday night.
Lapang, the longest-serving CM of Meghalaya, held office four times between 1992 and 2008. Born on April 10, 1934, he first entered the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 1972 as an independent from Nangpo and served as a minister in various departments for two decades before becoming CM.
