Meghalaya Honeymoon Tragedy: Wife Allegedly Behind Husband's Killing

Wife Hires Hitmen to Murder Husband During Meghalaya Honeymoon

Indore tourist Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly murdered by contract killers hired by his wife, Sonam, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, police confirmed.

Raja’s body was discovered in a ravine close to Sohra on June 2, nearly ten days after the couple disappeared. Their rented scooter was discovered abandoned nearby. A local guide had last seen them with three unidentified men, prompting suspicions of foul play.

Sonam voluntarily turned herself in at a police station in Ghazipur, UP. Meghalaya Police said she was in a relationship with Raj Kushwaha and conspired with him to murder Raja, hiring killers from Madhya Pradesh. Three suspects have been arrested; a fourth is on the run.

Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang confirmed Sonam’s role. CM Conrad Sangma praised the police for swift action. Meanwhile, Sonam's father denied the allegations and demanded a CBI probe, accusing police of fabricating the case.
