Hyderabad, Telangana: Hyderabad has added another milestone to its growing reputation as a global entertainment and technology hub. Global OTT giant Netflix has launched a state-of-the-art Global Visual Effects (VFX) and virtual production facility in the city, marking a significant boost for the region’s film and technology ecosystem.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday formally inaugurated the advanced virtual production hub of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad. The facility, spread across nearly 30,000 square feet, is equipped with cutting-edge visual effects and production technology designed to support global-scale filmmaking and digital content creation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu along with representatives from Netflix. Prominent personalities from the film industry, including pan-India star Rana Daggubati and leading producer Dil Raju, were also present at the event.
Rana Daggubati, known for his interest in emerging technology and visual effects, welcomed the launch of such a high-tech global studio in Hyderabad. Film industry professionals and producers expressed optimism that the facility will strengthen the city’s position as a major production and post-production destination.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the arrival of Netflix in Hyderabad reflects the city’s growing prominence in the global entertainment landscape. “When Netflix comes to our city, it feels like Hollywood has arrived here,” he remarked, adding that his passion for cinema dates back to childhood.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Hyderabad is rapidly advancing in both technology and cinema. He assured that the state government will provide full support to international companies seeking to invest in Telangana. He also announced that if Netflix chooses to expand its operations in the proposed Future City, the government is ready to provide the necessary land and infrastructure.
Industry observers note that this is Netflix’s second-largest office in India after Mumbai. The launch of the Eyeline Studios facility is expected to significantly boost Telangana’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector.
Experts believe that with Hollywood-level virtual production technology now available locally, Hyderabad will attract more international film projects while also creating new employment opportunities for skilled youth in animation, visual effects, and digital production.
The development further strengthens Hyderabad’s status as a major hub for innovation, cinema, and global media production.
