Omar Abdullah Statue of Unity

While touring Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the Statue of Unity, a move hailed by Prime Minister Modi as a meaningful step toward fostering national integration and mutual respect across regions.

In the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which severely impacted tourism in J&K, Omar Abdullah is on a mission to revive the sector. During his two-day visit to Gujarat, he met with tour operators, promoted J&K tourism, and assured enhanced security for visitors. He emphasized tourism’s role in the state's economy and urged people to look beyond recent incidents and support travel to the region.
