PM Modi Hails Operation Sindoor During Sikkim's Golden Jubilee

PM Modi on Sikkim 50th anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing Sikkim’s 50th statehood anniversary virtually, hailed Operation Sindoor as a strong response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, calling it an assault on humanity and reaffirming India's unity against terrorism.

Due to bad weather, Modi couldn’t attend the celebrations in Gangtok and instead addressed the gathering from Bagdogra. He called Sikkim the "pride of the nation," praising its commitment to democracy, growing organic exports, and environmental conservation.

Modi highlighted the Sevoke-Rangpo railway project to improve the state’s connectivity and emphasized the government’s goal to make India a sports superpower, noting Sikkim’s potential in adventure sports and its role in the development of the Northeast.
