A significant diplomatic chapter between India and Israel is set to unfold as Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his two-day official visit to Israel. This marks his second visit to the country since 2017, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.
In a notable gesture, Israel’s leading daily, The Jerusalem Post, dedicated a specially designed front page to welcome the Indian Prime Minister. The cover prominently featured the words “Welcome Modi” and “Namaste Shalom,” reflecting the warmth of bilateral ties. The newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, Zwicka Klein, shared the tribute on social media, describing it as a symbol of strengthening India-Israel friendship.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honour. He will also hold high-level discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, focusing on defence, security, science and technology, agriculture, innovation, cyber security, trade, and the evolving situation in Gaza.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, and meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog. The discussions are expected to further deepen political trust and expand the robust strategic cooperation between the two nations.
In a statement posted on X, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the visit will help advance the multifaceted strategic partnership and explore new avenues of collaboration across key sectors.
