Chandrababu Naidu Launches Quantum Facility Centre

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday inaugurated India’s first Quantum Facility Centre, marking a significant milestone in the country’s advancement in quantum technology.

The Chief Minister formally launched Quantum Test Beds established at SRM University in Amaravati and at Medha Towers in Gannavaram. He also dedicated the 1S and 1Q Quantum Test Beds to the nation.

With this development, Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in India to establish a Quantum Test Reference Facility, strengthening its position as an emerging hub for advanced scientific research and innovation.

The initiative has been supported by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, with active participation from members of the National Quantum Mission, IIT professors, quantum scientists, startup representatives, and research scholars.

The event witnessed widespread engagement, with virtual viewing arrangements made across universities and colleges throughout the state. Over 1.5 lakh students reportedly participated in the live session, highlighting growing interest in quantum technologies among the youth.
