Raghav Chadha resigns from AAP and joins BJP in major political shift
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suffered a major political setback as senior leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, along with Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal, have resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the media, Raghav Chadha stated that he had been aligned with the “wrong party” for a prolonged period and cited ideological differences as the primary reason for his resignation. He also expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his remarks.
The developments are being linked to the ongoing “Operation Lotus,” which is reportedly creating significant political movement in Punjab. In total, seven MPs have resigned, including the three Rajya Sabha members who have now joined the BJP.
Currently, the Aam Aadmi Party holds 10 seats in the Rajya Sabha, and these resignations could impact its parliamentary strength and influence in upcoming political developments.
