Shopian Terror Arrests: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba Militants Captured

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are intensively conducting searches to curb terrorist activities following the Pahalgam attack. As part of these operations, two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were arrested. CRPF personnel carried out a cordon search in the Baskchan area of Shopian district and apprehended two militants. They were identified as Irfan Bashir and Uzair Salam, both belonging to LeT, officials said.

From the arrested terrorists, authorities seized two AK-56 rifles, four magazines, 102 rounds, two hand grenades, cash amounting to Rs. 5400, and Aadhaar cards. The security forces have intensified anti-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir since the April 22 Pahalgam attack. So far, 26 terrorists have been eliminated as part of these efforts.

Earlier this month, six terrorists were killed in encounters in the Tral area of Pulwama and Shopian districts. Additionally, in an encounter on April 8, LeT commander Shahid Kutty was killed.
