Heavy rains battered Sikkim, triggering floods and landslides in multiple areas. In Upper Rimbi, Gyalshing district, four people died and three went missing after a landslide struck late Thursday night in the Yangthang area.

Rescue teams, aided by local villagers and SSB personnel, launched daring operations. A temporary log bridge was built over the swift Hume River to evacuate victims to safety. Videos of the rescue are going viral.
