Train Services Restored After Assam Derailment

Assam train derailment

Train services in Assam's Lumding-Badarpur section have resumed after the derailment of eight coaches from the Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express. The first train to pass the site was the SMVT Bengaluru-Agartala Express at 9:48 AM. While services are restored, some trains remain canceled or rescheduled. An investigation is ongoing, and fortunately, there were no fatalities or major injuries. Several trains, including the Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Special, were canceled due to the incident, along with the Anand Vihar Terminal–Kamakhya Special scheduled for October 20.
