Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts were hit by sudden cloudbursts, resulting in 8 fatalities and 8 people reported missing. Multiple families remain stranded, while rescue teams work tirelessly to reach those trapped. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is overseeing relief operations.

Meanwhile, persistent heavy rainfall in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Ranikhet, and Almora has forced schools to close, caused road blockages, and disrupted electricity and water services.  Authorities warn people to avoid riverbanks and hazardous areas.
