CCTV footage has surfaced showing the accused, Rakshit Chaurasiya, and his friend shortly before a fatal crash in Vadodara on Friday. The footage reveals the two arriving at a friend's house, where Rakshit is seen drinking from a bottle. After spending 45 minutes, the pair left in a black sedan, with Rakshit eventually switching to the driver's seat. The crash, caused by Rakshit driving at high speed while intoxicated, resulted in a woman's death and injuries to four others. Rakshit was heard shouting after the crash, and locals apprehended him and handed him over to the police. Both Rakshit and his friend Pranshu were arrested. Despite claims from Rakshit that he wasn't drunk and was driving at 50 km/h, authorities confirmed his intoxication.
