Veteran Odisha BJP Leader Samir Dey Passes Away at 67

A prominent advocate, Dey served as a Member of the Odisha Assembly three times from Cuttack City (1995, 2000, and 2004) and held key ministerial positions, including Minister of Urban Development, Public Grievances, Pension Administration, and Higher Education during the BJP-BJD alliance government from 2000 to 2009. He was also closely associated with organizations like Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Political leaders across parties, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and former CM Naveen Patnaik, expressed condolences, lauding Dey’s contributions to Odisha’s development and his role in strengthening the BJP in the state.
