Vizag Bay City Coastal Development Project
Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has invited proposals from consultants to prepare an Area Development Plan and Catalytic Project Strategy for the proposed Vizag Bay City project.
According to the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the authority, the project will cover an estimated 40 square kilometres along a 25-kilometre coastal corridor stretching from Kailasagiri to Bheemili.
The proposed development zone includes several prominent coastal destinations such as Sagar Nagar, Thotlakonda, Rushikonda, Mangamaripeta and Bheemili, which are among the key tourist attractions in the Visakhapatnam region.
Officials said the consultant will be responsible for preparing a comprehensive development strategy aimed at transforming the coastal belt into a modern tourism, economic and investment hub.
The Vizag Bay City initiative is part of broader plans to develop the Visakhapatnam Economic Region into a globally competitive investment destination. The project is expected to boost tourism, infrastructure growth and economic activity along the city’s scenic coastline.
Authorities believe the proposed Bay City development could significantly strengthen Visakhapatnam’s position as one of India’s leading coastal urban and tourism centres
