Beijing: China Aerospace, Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) has announced that the newly designed magnetically levitated (maglev) train has created a new speed record. It said that it beat the previous record of 623 km per hour. However, the exact speed it achieved is a secret. Officials said this result was obtained when tests were conducted in a two-kilometre-long low-vacuum tube. According to the local press, a train travelling at the speed of an aeroplane will soon be available in China. Such trains operate based on Maglev technology. They use magnetic force to propel the train forward. Also that train.. does not touch the tracks and floats in the wind. These trains run in a special low-vacuum tube to increase the speed.
