UPI ATM Withdrawal Without Debit Card
UPI ATM Withdrawal: With the rapid expansion of digital payment systems in India, withdrawing cash from ATMs is now possible without using a debit card. Several major banks, including State Bank of India (SBI) and HDFC Bank, have introduced UPI-based ATM withdrawal services following guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
This feature is designed to make cash withdrawals more convenient, especially for individuals who may forget their debit card while travelling or in emergency situations. The system allows customers to withdraw cash securely using their mobile phones and UPI applications.
Cash Withdrawal Limits and Security
Under this facility, users can withdraw up to ₹10,000 per transaction through UPI at participating ATMs. Banks have also clarified that the maximum withdrawal limit using this method can go up to ₹20,000 per day.
One of the key advantages of this system is improved security. Since the process does not require inserting a debit card into the ATM, it reduces risks associated with card skimming and other cyber frauds.
How the UPI ATM Withdrawal Works
The process to withdraw cash through UPI is simple and user-friendly.
Customers need to select the “UPI Cash Withdrawal” option on the ATM screen and enter the desired withdrawal amount. A QR code will then appear on the screen. The user must scan this QR code using their UPI-enabled mobile application.
Once the QR code is scanned, the user needs to authorize the transaction by entering their UPI PIN. After successful authentication, the ATM dispenses the requested amount instantly.
This new facility is expected to further strengthen India’s digital payment ecosystem while providing a convenient alternative for cash withdrawals.
