Elon Musk's X Set to Challenge Zoom and Google Meet with New Video Conferencing Feature

Elon Musk X video conferencing feature

Elon Musk's X is positioning itself to compete with Zoom and Google Meet by introducing a new video conferencing feature. The platform, which already supports video calls, plans to add video conferencing capabilities that may rival those of established services. Chris Park, an X employee, shared a screenshot of the new interface, which resembles Zoom and Google Meet but features distinct design elements.

Park highlighted that the tool is currently being tested internally and could offer features like pinning the speaker and improved notifications for participants joining or leaving the meeting. Additionally, a unique shareable code for joining calls is being developed.

In other X news, the Grok 2 AI chatbot now generates images, though the results have sparked concerns. Users have criticized the generated images for their resemblance to real-life characters, raising issues of AI deepfakes and copyright infringements. This criticism underscores potential shortcomings in X's approach to AI content policies compared to other platforms like Microsoft and OpenAI.
