Tech giants Google and Microsoft consumed 24 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity each in 2023, exceeding the energy consumption of over 100 countries combined.

This underscores their significant environmental footprint and their potential to lead sustainable initiatives. Google reported revenues of $307.4 billion, and Microsoft recorded $211.9 billion, highlighting their massive scale compared to entire countries like Iceland, Ghana, and Jordan.

Both companies are committed to achieving carbon-neutral or carbon-negative status by the end of the decade, emphasizing their responsibility in environmental sustainability efforts.
