Captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with a composed half-century, while Prabhsimran Singh (43), Priyansh Arya (39), and Cooper Connolly (36) played crucial roles in the successful chase.

The match also witnessed several notable records. Punjab Kings now hold the record for the most successful 200-plus run chases in T20 cricket, achieving the feat nine times, ahead of Australia with seven. Additionally, Punjab has now registered four consecutive wins against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk between 2023 and 2026.

For Chennai Super Kings, this marks their first instance of back-to-back defeats since IPL 2022, despite posting 200-plus totals multiple times against Punjab in the past.

Priyansh Arya was named Player of the Match for his explosive 39 off just 11 deliveries. Notably, he becomes only the second player after Glenn Phillips to win the award with such a brief but impactful innings. Arya has now secured two Player of the Match awards as an uncapped player, joining Abhishek Sharma in this rare category.

Punjab Kings also recorded their second-highest successful chase in IPL history, having previously chased down 262 runs against Kolkata last season.
