No tsunami threat has been reported, and damage details are awaited. A separate seismic event measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck beneath the Bay of Bengal, triggering mild tremors that were felt across several nearby coastal islands, prompting brief precautionary alerts. An earthquake was also reported in Indonesia.
