Aqua Line: Mumbai's first underground metro has begun

Mumbai's First Underground Metro: Mumbai's first underground metro service, the Aqua Line, has started today.

Route and Coverage: It runs from Santa Cruz SEEPZ to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), covering 33.5 km with 27 stations.

Service Hours and Speed: Operational from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM, trains run every few minutes, with speeds up to 90 km/h, completing journeys in about 50 minutes.

Future Phases: The entire project, including the second phase, will take a few more months to complete, managed by DMRC and MMRCL with significant funding from JICA.

Passenger Amenities: Features include escalators, lifts, CCTV, screen doors, Braille buttons, and wheelchair access, enhancing convenience and safety.
