The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for coastal districts in Andhra Pradesh and other states due to Cyclone Dana, which is developing in the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone, expected to become a severe cyclonic storm by Thursday, poses risks to Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, with landfall predicted between Puri and Sagar Islands from Thursday night to Friday morning. Fishermen are advised to stay off the sea until October 25. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam on October 24 and 25, while Telangana is expected to see normal rainfall during the same period. Residents are urged to stay alert for weather updates and safety recommendations.
