Kamala Harris Submits Her Candidacy For US Presidential Election 2024

Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, has been proposed as the Democratic candidate for the upcoming US Presidential Election. Harris, 59, announced her candidacy and expressed her commitment to winning the election in November with the support of the people. This announcement follows President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the race and his subsequent endorsement of Harris.

However, the Democratic Party has not yet officially confirmed her candidacy. Kamala Harris, born Kamaladevi Harris, has an Indian mother, Shyamala Gopalan, and a Jamaican father, Donald Harris.

Her mother was a scientist from Chennai, and her father was a professor of economics. Kamala, born in America, holds a degree in Economics from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate from Hastings College of Law, University of California.

Harris began her career as a Deputy District Attorney for Alameda County, California. He later served as Managing Attorney in the Career Criminal Unit of the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She was elected San Francisco City Attorney General in 2003 and served two terms until 2011, after which she became the California Attorney General.

In 2017, Harris was elected as a California senator, becoming the first black woman to enter the 'American House of Representatives' after Carol Moseley Braun. She made history again in 2020 by becoming the first female Vice President of the United States, as well as the first black and first Vice President of South Asian descent.

As Harris aims for the presidency, she will likely compete against Republican candidate Donald Trump, 78. If successful, Harris would make history as the first female president of the United States.
