Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: No Lawyers for Accused CISF DIG Visits RG Kar Hospital

Kolkata doctor rape murder case

In Kolkata, doctors are continuing their indefinite strike in response to the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Protests are ongoing, with doctors planning a march from RG Kar to Sashthya Bhawan on Wednesday and maintaining their strike until the Supreme Court delivers its verdict.

Former RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh appeared for questioning by the CBI, who noted inconsistencies in his statements. Ghosh faces additional allegations from former Deputy Superintendent Akhtar Ali, including bribery, biomedical waste trafficking, and extortion. The polygraph test for Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the case, remains delayed due to his pending consent. As no lawyer is willing to represent him, a legal aid lawyer has been appointed.
