After a violent clash at a Chhatarpur police station in Madhya Pradesh left several officers injured, authorities arrested 20 people and demolished the home of local leader Shahzad Ali. Both Congress and BJP are disowning Ali, claiming he belongs to the other party.

The incident escalated when around 100-150 people, allegedly led by Ali, protested remarks made by Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj.

The situation turned violent, with stones thrown at the police, leading to injuries. Following the clash, police used teargas to disperse the crowd and later demolished parts of Ali’s allegedly illegal home.

Charges have been filed against 46 identified and 150 unidentified individuals.
