Mumbai Flooded: Heavy Rains Disrupt Traffic, Train Services

Mumbai Rains

Mumbai woke up to a rain-soaked Monday, with overnight and early morning showers causing waterlogging in low-lying areas like King’s Circle, Dadar, and Kurla, slowing traffic during office hours. Local trains faced delays due to water accumulation on tracks at Kurla (Central Railway) and Bandra (Western Railway).

The heavy rainfall, which began around midnight with lightning and thunder, worsened road conditions as potholes filled with water. The IMD warned of moderate to intense rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds of 30-50 kmph in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad.

Between 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Colaba recorded 88.2 mm of rain, followed by Bandra (82 mm), Byculla (73 mm), Tata Power (70.5 mm), Juhu (45 mm), Santacruz (36.6 mm), and Mahalaxmi (36.5 mm).
