A mysterious disease has caused panic in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, with 13 deaths reported in the village of Dhanikorta, near the Odisha border, within a month. The victims suffered severe chest pain and continuous coughing before passing away. Health officials have sent blood samples from 80 villagers for testing. Although the cause remains unknown, some suspect that the mahua harvest season and weather changes could be contributing factors, as villagers spend long hours in the forests. The health department is investigating and setting up a medical camp in the area.
