New Delhi, Delhi, India: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Board of Peace, an initiative aimed at resolving the Israel-Palestine conflict and restoring stability in Gaza. Invitations have also been extended to Pakistan, Jordan, Greece, and Cyprus.

Trump unveiled the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict on September 29, 2025, outlining a 20-point framework for long-term peace in the Middle East. The proposal was later approved by the United Nations Security Council, with the Board of Peace positioned as a central pillar and an alternative global platform to the UNSC.

In an official letter to Modi, Trump described the Board as the most influential and far-reaching body ever created, intended to function as a new international institution and transitional governing authority. U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said he was honored to deliver the invitation, noting the Board’s focus on governance, stability, and economic growth in Gaza.

If Modi accepts, he would join a group that includes U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Jared Kushner, special envoy Steve Witkoff, World Bank President Ajay Banga, investor Marc Rowan, and adviser Robert Gabriel.

Unverified media reports suggest the offer includes temporary, cost-free membership, while permanent membership may require a one-billion-dollar contribution. Separately, Reuters reported that Trump is expected to serve as chair of the Board for life, based on the invitation letter and a draft charter.
