Kolkata, West Bengal: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made a major and unexpected decision regarding the Indian Premier League. The IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders has received official directions to part ways with Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman.

The development was officially confirmed by BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia. Speaking to news agency ANI, Saikia stated that, considering the present situation, the BCCI has instructed KKR to release the Bangladesh international from their playing roster.

He further added that if Kolkata Knight Riders decide to sign a substitute player in place of Mustafizur Rahman, the board has already conveyed that such a replacement will be permitted under the league regulations.
