Senior Indian batter Rohit Sharma is preparing intensely for the upcoming One Day International series against New Zealand. The experienced cricketer was recently seen working hard during net practice sessions, focusing on sharpening his skills. Rohit, popularly known as the Hitman, shared a glimpse of his training on his Instagram story, and the image has quickly gained widespread attention across social media platforms.

The New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to tour India starting January 11, where they will compete in three ODIs and five T20 Internationals. Ahead of this important series, Rohit Sharma appears fully committed to his preparations, as reflected in the viral practice photo he posted online.

The year 2025 has been a landmark period in Rohit Sharma’s career. He delivered a crucial performance by scoring 76 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy final, playing a decisive role in India’s title triumph. During the same year, he reached the top position in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings for the first time in his career.

Rohit also created history by becoming the highest six-hitter in ODI cricket. He surpassed the long-standing record of Shahid Afridi, who had held the mark with 351 sixes since 2015. Rohit now leads the list with 355 sixes in 279 ODI matches. In addition, he achieved another rare milestone by becoming the first batter to accumulate 20,000 runs in international cricket.
