Trump Announces Historic Brownsville Texas Oil Refinery Project
Brownsville, Texas, USA: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans for the construction of the first new oil refinery in the United States in nearly five decades, describing the project as a major step toward restoring American energy dominance.
According to Trump, America First Refining will develop the refinery at the Port of Brownsville in Texas, marking the first new U.S. refinery project in about 50 years. The project is valued at approximately $300 billion, which Trump described as one of the largest energy investments in U.S. history.
The proposed refinery is expected to significantly boost domestic energy production, strengthen national energy security, and expand U.S. fuel exports to global markets.
Trump also acknowledged investment support from India’s largest privately held energy company, Reliance, highlighting the role of international partnerships in advancing the project.
He stated that policy measures under his “America First” agenda, including streamlined permitting processes and tax reductions, have helped attract major investments back into the United States.
The refinery, planned at the Port of Brownsville, is expected to create thousands of jobs, stimulate economic growth in South Texas, and contribute billions of dollars in economic activity to the region.
Trump added that the facility aims to be one of the cleanest refineries in the world, incorporating advanced technologies to reduce environmental impact while meeting growing energy demand.
The project, if completed as planned, could become a significant milestone for the U.S. energy sector and reinforce the country's position in global energy markets.
