Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the allocation of 480 acres of land in the Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli regions for the development of a massive AI Data Centre project. The facility, planned to have a total capacity of 1 GW, will be established by Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, which has been designated as a key partner of Raiden Infotech India — a Google-affiliated company.
Earlier, the Google entity informed the state administration that several companies, including Adani Infra (India), AdaniConneX India, Adani Power India, Bharti Airtel, Nxtra Data, and its subsidiary Nxtra Vizag Ltd, would serve as its official partner firms for the data centre initiative.
Raiden requested that all the land parcels identified by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) be allotted specifically to Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, its primary partner, after completion of surveys and formal handover of the sites.
In an order issued on December 2, the government stated that after evaluating the proposal and following cabinet approval on November 28, 2025, permission was granted to transfer the 480 acres of land to Adani Infra (India) Private Limited for the upcoming project.
Raiden Infotech is setting up the data centres in phases and is projected to invest over ₹87,500 crore in the state. Over time, the company is expected to receive approximately ₹22,000 crore in incentives from the Andhra Pradesh government under the approved policy.
The government order also mentions that Raiden and its partner companies will be eligible to avail all incentives announced previously by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s administration for the data centre programme. The upcoming facility will follow the same global standards that power Google platforms such as Search, YouTube, and Workspace.
Data centre capacity is commonly measured based on the electricity it consumes. The proposed 1 GW data centre in Visakhapatnam, once fully operational, is estimated to draw almost the same amount of power as half of Mumbai’s yearly electricity usage.
Chief Minister Naidu recently noted that Google’s investment commitment, originally pegged at USD 10 billion, has now been raised to USD 15 billion.
