Bengaluru: South's first double-decker flyover launched

First Double-Decker Flyover: The first double-decker flyover in South India has been inaugurated in Karnataka.

Cost and Length: Constructed at a cost of Rs 449 crore, the flyover is 3.36 km long.

Inauguration: Deputy CM DK Shivakumar inaugurated the flyover at 3 PM in Bengaluru.

Traffic Ease: It will ease traffic from Silk Board Junction to Outer Ring Road.

Structure: The flyover has an elevated metro corridor on the upper deck and an elevated road on the lower deck.

Ramps: The flyover includes five ramps, with three completed and two under construction.

Completion Timeline: The metro line is expected to be operational by December this year, and the remaining ramps by May 2025.

Time Savings: The flyover will save 30-40 minutes of travel time across the city.
