Doda Cloudburst: 3 Dead, Rescue Operations Underway

Heavy rains triggered flashfloods, landslides, and mudslides in Doda, killing at least three people and damaging 15 houses, three footbridges, and a healthcare center in Doda, Rajouri, and Kishtwar.

Authorities have evacuated residents and warned against water bodies and landslide-prone areas.

The Chenab River is near its 900-feet flood level, and several roads, including parts of Paddar, Ramnagar-Udhampur, and the Jammu-Srinagar highway, are closed.

Heavy rains are swelling rivers in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, and Udhampur, pushing water levels to critical limits, while meteorologists warn that flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides may persist through August 27.
