Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor and senior BJP leader Satyapal Malik passed away around 1 pm on Tuesday at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi.

He held the post of Jammu and Kashmir Governor from August 2018 to October 2019, overseeing the region during the historic revocation of Article 370, and subsequently served as Governor of Goa and Meghalaya until late 2022. 

Malik faced corruption allegations, including irregularities in the Kiru hydroelectric project, with the CBI filing a chargesheet against him.
