Monsoon Update: Good News, Monsoon to Spread Across the Country in Two Days

The Meteorological Department has provided good news for these regions. After facing intense heat, Delhi has already experienced the monsoon, and now Punjab and Haryana will follow. Similar to UP and Bihar, these states will also receive heavy rainfall.

Orange Alert in Himachal Pradesh

An orange alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for seven districts in Himachal Pradesh: Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Solan. The state is expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms today and tomorrow, with rainfall continuing on Monday and Tuesday. Shimla has recorded 84 mm of rainfall, and other areas like Jubberhatti, Gohar, and Mashobra have also seen significant rainfall.

Monsoon in Uttarakhand

Monsoon has spread to Uttarakhand after reaching Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department advises the public to avoid mountain travel due to heavy rains expected in the next 24 to 48 hours, along with thunderstorms and lightning in mountainous areas.

Monsoon Brings Disaster to Delhi

The first monsoon rains in Delhi caused part of the roof at Terminal-1 of Delhi Airport to collapse, resulting in one death and several injuries. Delhi received 228.1 mm of rainfall in 24 hours, more than three times the June average and the highest in 88 years since 1936. Heavy rain continued this morning.
