Mumbai Metro Line 3 Stations Get New Names Ahead of Launch

The Union Government has approved renaming 11 stations on Mumbai's Metro Line-3 (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ). Spanning 33.5 km with 27 stations, the Aqua Line will partially open next week, with passenger services beginning from Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 12.5 km stretch between October 3 and 5.

While the rest of the line is expected to be ready by March 2025, safety inspections are currently underway for 10 stations. Among the updates, airport stations are renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport  T1 and T2, and Bandra has been revised to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
