A tweet war erupted between J&K CM Omar Abdullah and former CM Mehbooba Mufti over the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan. Omar questioned whether the Tulbul Navigation Project, halted in 2007 due to Pakistan's objections, could now resume after India suspended the treaty following the Pahalgam terror attack. He emphasized that the project would boost navigation on the Jhelum River and enhance power generation in the region.

Mehbooba, however, criticized Omar's administration for making provocative moves amid escalating tensions with Pakistan.In response, Omar alleged she was trying to appease people across the border for cheap publicity. Mufti replied that time would reveal who was truly appeasing whom.
