Raj Thackeray Defends English Education, Slams Hindi Imposition

At a joint MNS-Shiv Sena (UBT) rally, Raj Thackeray questioned if LK Advani's missionary schooling undermines his Hindutva, defending English education as no threat to regional pride.

Citing Bal Thackeray and South Indian icons educated in English, he said love for Marathi or any regional language isn’t tied to school medium.

Raj Thackeray opposed the scrapped directive to mandate Hindi from Classes 1 to 5, warning it was a move to detach Mumbai from Maharashtra. He emphasized that true national unity thrives through diversity, not by enforcing a single language.
