Emirates Road, Dubai: At least seven Indian workers lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident in Dubai after a minibus collided with a truck that had reportedly stopped on Emirates Road due to a technical malfunction.

Expressing grief over the incident, the Indian Embassy in Dubai said it was deeply saddened by the loss of lives and was extending all possible assistance to the affected individuals and their families.

According to Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of Dubai Police's General Department of Traffic, preliminary investigations revealed that the truck had come to a halt in the middle of the road after experiencing a technical issue.

Authorities stated that the minibus crashed into the rear of the stationary truck. Initial findings indicate that the bus driver failed to maintain a safe distance and was unable to avoid the collision.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene and transported the injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials from the Indian Embassy also visited the injured and are coordinating necessary support.

The damaged vehicles were removed from the roadway, and normal traffic movement on Emirates Road was restored shortly after the incident. Further investigations into the accident are underway.
