Orange, Massachusetts USA: Indian-origin software engineer Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam (28) lost his life in a skydiving accident at Jumptown Skydiving in Orange, Massachusetts, on July 12, according to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.

Officials said Gaddam was descending under his parachute at around 4 p.m. when an unexpected gust of wind disrupted his landing. He reportedly fell nearly 30 feet before being rushed to Athol Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

In an official statement, Jumptown Skydiving said a sudden and unpredictable weather event appears to have caused the accident and confirmed that it is fully cooperating with investigators.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, and the Orange Police Department. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.

A GoFundMe campaign launched by Gaddam's cousin, Naga Annam, describes him as a bright, hardworking, and compassionate young professional with a strong passion for learning and taking on new challenges.

According to the fundraiser, Gaddam's family made significant sacrifices throughout his education, including relocating from Vijayawada to Hyderabad to provide him with better academic opportunities. They also invested much of their savings to support his higher education and career in the United States.

Gaddam later earned a master's degree from Northeastern University in Massachusetts and had recently started his career as a software engineer. The campaign also noted that he had recently obtained his A License in skydiving and had developed a deep interest in the sport.

Family members said his sudden passing has left them facing both emotional and financial hardship. The fundraiser aims to help cover funeral and related expenses while encouraging those unable to donate to share the campaign to support the family.

Authorities have not released any additional details as the investigation into the accident continues.
