Major IED Haul in Jammu and Kashmir After Pahalgam Attack
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir recovered five IEDs, wireless sets, urea packets, a gas cylinder, and other materials from a terror hideout in Poonch. Two IEDs were in steel buckets and three in tiffin boxes. The bust came after a high-level security review by IGP VK Birdi with various forces.
This comes amid heightened alert after the April 22 Pahalgam attack where 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. India has since taken strict measures against Pakistan, suspending visas, the Indus Waters Treaty, port access, and airspace use. PM Modi vowed to hunt down the attackers, while Pakistan has denied involvement and claimed readiness for a probe. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured a strong response.
