Tragic Submarine Sinking in Egypt's Red Sea
A tragic accident occurred in Egypt near Hurghada, where a tourist submarine sank in the Red Sea. Reports confirm that six people lost their lives, while 14 others were injured, with four in critical condition. Local authorities stated that around 40 passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
The accident happened on Thursday morning (March 27). Upon receiving information, rescue teams were deployed, successfully evacuating 29 people. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but experts suspect a technical failure, negligence of safety standards, or rough sea conditions as possible reasons.
Hurghada, a major tourist hub in Egypt, is known for its stunning coastline and coral reefs, attracting a large number of visitors. However, repeated incidents have raised concerns over the safety of tourist submarines. In November last year, a tourist boat named Sea Story sank, killing 11 people while 35 were rescued. Reports indicate that over the past five years, 16 such accidents have occurred in the region, leading to multiple fatalities.
